Real Living Partners With Avida to Style A Model Unit

Last Thursday, July 23, I got a chance to see the 1-bedroom unit in Avida Showroom, Vertis North, designed by up-and-coming designers. I already saw the winning designs in July issue of Real Living Magazine and so I was excited to see the actual unit and meet the designers in person. I really wish I took up Interior Design instead of majoring in Advertising Design. Haha!

In June, Real Living paired three interior designers fairly new in the industry — Gino Eraña, Jane Karla Samson and Joevie Andrew Tuquib — with seasoned professionals — Kristine Neri-Magturo, Hannah Acab-Faustino and John Vigilia — who served as their official mentors throughout the design process. Each designer was assigned a section in the Avida Towers Vita at Vertis North showroom and given a P100,000 budget, as well as access to the large selection of coating solutions from Nippon Paint Philippines and appliances from Electrolux.

A panel of judges from Real Living and Avida evaluated each designer’s work based on their originality, resourcefulness, as well as overall “wow” factor of their space. The winning designer, Gino Eraña, was named to the magazine’s Real Living Next Gen: 25 Creatives to Watch” list which appears in Real Living’s July 2015 issue.

BEDROOM by Kristine Neri-Magturo (Mentor) & Gino Eraña

Kristine and Gino drew inspiration from the young newlywed couple’s fun and active lifestyle as seen in its modern, chic and fresh, Scandinavian theme inspired interior. The furniture pieces exudes elegant simplicity and practicality and color palette offers relaxing and airy tones, making the bedroom the most ideal place to rest after a long day’s work.

Gallery-A Gallery-GLIVING ROOM by John Vigilia (Mentor) & Joevie Andrew Tuquib

John and Joevie opted for element that are modern and functional, without sacrificing style. They found the right balance between straight and curvy lines, with a healthy mix of the old and the new. By combining wood with various fabrics and textures, the living area gives off a cozy vibe, with masculine and feminine touches to suit the homeowners’ personality. Practicality is still the key component of the space, with every furniture serving a purpose.

Gallery-EKITCHEN/DINING ROOM by Hannah Acab-Faustino (Mentor) & Jane Karla Samson

Drawing inspiration from the Northen Lights phenomena in Scandinavia, Hannah and Jane selected design elements that are reminiscent of awe-inspiring dancing lights as well as the region’s lush natural environment. Soothing hues of indigo, jade, plum, and emerald encourage peaceful thinking, while the rhythm and the playful use of materials and colors help inspire creative ideas.Gallery-FI’m sure you love the design as well as all the furniture and decor pieces in the model unit. You can have a chance to own all of these by simply scheduling a visit, any day until the end of September, to Real Living Open House to join the raffle. Just go to Avida Open House microsite to pick a schedule and register.
